It’s Friday—Now What for the Weekend?
This morning started like usual: measured my blood pressure, did five minutes of squats, had breakfast, and then off to work.
Last night, I attended a lecture for work followed by a small gathering. I got home around 9 PM, a little later than usual. So today, I wrapped up work a bit early and headed home.
Measured my blood pressure,
Today’s Blood Pressure Reading (April 25, 4:15 PM)
Systolic: 116 mmHg / Diastolic: 83 mmHg / Pulse: 57 bpm
Seeing the numbers helps put my mind at ease. It’s become a calming routine.

As the week closes, there’s a natural sigh of relief on Friday evenings. And I find myself asking: “What shall I do this weekend?”
I could plan something… or I could keep things open and let my mind and body rest.
Maybe go for a ride on my bike, or finally read that book on the shelf. But one thing I won’t skip: some form of physical activity.
At my age, maintaining fitness is essential—not optional.
So, will it be the usual hilly bike route, or a trip to the local heated pool that just reopened last week?
It’s a small 15-meter pool, but I have a goal: 20 laps. That’s been my challenge every year. Can I do it again this year?
We’ll see—but either way, the important thing is to take time to reconnect with my body and spirit. That’s the heart of my “pin-koro” lifestyle.
Today’s Message to Myself
Rest is not a setback. It’s preparation for the next step forward. You’ve done well this week—be kind to yourself.
