Aiming for a “PinKoro” Life — Why I Started This Blog
Hello and welcome! This is the very first post of my new blog, “PinKoro-Ki.” What does “PinKoro” mean? It’s a casual Japanese expression that reflects a deep wish: to live a full, healthy, and active life—and then pass away peacefully, without prolonged suffering.

I turned 70 years old. My wife and I live a quiet life in the suburbs, surrounded by nature and time to reflect. Looking back, I spent my working years at foreign-capital companies, mostly in corporate sales of IT hardware and software. I also experienced several career changes after retirement. Now, I want to put that experience to use—and enjoy life in a different way.
This blog is my personal attempt to explore and share ideas about how to stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well as we age. I will also write about little things from daily life, hobbies, and ways to keep moving forward with a positive mindset.
In Japanese, we say “pin pin korori” (ピンピンコロリ)—a catchy phrase that means “staying spry until the very end.” That’s the spirit behind this blog.
Thank you for stopping by. Let’s walk this journey together, with joy and curiosity.
