Today was my day off.
The morning started with a cloudy sky and occasional drizzle, but by the afternoon, the rain finally stopped. So, I went out for a quick ride on my bicycle.
The roads were slightly wet, but the wind was calm, making it easy to ride.
I covered about 25 km, with a top speed of 40 km/h — a solid ride!
I worked up a sweat and felt refreshed. Exercise really does relieve stress.

After getting home, I took a shower right away.
About an hour later, I measured my blood pressure:
Systolic: 124, Diastolic: 81, Pulse: 70.
My heart rate was a bit higher than usual, but nothing to worry about — my body must still be in workout mode.

To wrap up the day, I enjoyed a relaxing drink.
As a little reward to myself, I chose our household favorite,【PR】 “Kirishima BRILLIANT,” a rich and fragrant sweet potato shochu.
Mixed with hot water, its aroma and depth spread gently, warming me from the inside out.

Tonight’s dish was okonomiyaki — but not the usual pork version.
I made a healthy twist by using plenty of firm tofu instead of flour.
Healthy but Satisfying Okonomiyaki
Ingredients:
- Pork
- Lots of cabbage
- Firm tofu
- Egg and a little flour
- Pickled red ginger (a must!)
The tofu made the texture fluffy and moist, while adding richness that complemented the pork and cabbage.
The red ginger gave a nice punch that brought it all together.
The sizzling sound and smell from the griddle — combined with the steam from the hot shochu — made it the perfect “adult reward time.”
Next time: Seafood version?
Since the tofu okonomiyaki turned out so well, I’m already planning a seafood version next time. Shrimp, squid, scallops…? Just thinking about it makes me excited.
I hope to keep sharing little joys of these food-and-drink moments.
